It’s summer 1973, and I am hanging with Grandma Ruth and Aunt Kay. I learned to knit, crochet, sew, and embroider that summer. I was a high-energy kid, for sure, and needed to be kept busy. This hat marks the start of my 50-year odyssey as a maker.
